ARTS on TAP, Inc., dba ARTS FIFTH AVENUE
- an alternative arts organization, was incorporated and received its
501(c)3 designation in 1992. Our Mission is to stimulate, develop and
preserve interest in tap dance and other complimentary art forms, and
to educate the general public, particularly youth, about this uniquely
American dance form; and to provide a forum of expression for dancers,
choreographers, musicians, composers, and visual and performing artists.
Under the umbrella of ARTS FIFTH AVENUE,
LaFeet Tap Ensemble is a company in progress exploring the art of tap
dancing to a variety of musical styles including jazz, blues and the World
rhythms of MONDO Drummers.
DIRECTORS

Gracey Tune, Executive
Director and Co-Founder of ARTS FIFTH AVENUE.
Gracey Tune is one of few internationally-recognized women
in the field of tap. She received the Outstanding Woman in the Arts Award
from the city of Fort Worth for her artistic contributions to the performing
and visual arts, and in 1993 was included in the Texas Women's Hall of
Fame by Governor Ann Richards. Most recently (May, 2005), Ms. Tune was
honored by the Dance Council, Inc. (Dallas, TX) and received their inaugural
TEXAS TAP LEGENDS AWARD 2005. Ms. Tune has extensive experience in the
performing and visual arts, including choreography for the Broadway productions
of "Steppin' Out" and "My One and Only". Dedicated to the past, present
and future of the art of tap dance, she is a frequent guest artist at
major events in the world of tap. She has performed with and produced
shows for tap legends Cholly Atkins, Savion Glover, Sarah Petronio, Ron
Young, and her wonderful brother, Tommy Tune. Educational, cultural, and
artistic exchange have been at the forefront of Ms. Tune's efforts in
broadening and enhancing the joy and importance of the visual and performing
arts in North Texas.
