Peggy Bott-Kirby/Vocal Chorus - (listed on the Texas Commission on the Arts/Arts In Education Artist Roster) when I was little I learned a hymn in choir at church. I sang it for my teacher and she sent me to the office with a note to sing it to them…the note also said to turn on the microphone to the entire school! The sharing of music thru lifting voices is one of the most fun things I can imagine.

Lisa Davis/Acting & Musical Theatre - has her B.A. in Theater from the University of Wisconsin. Lisa's work experience over the past 30 years has been wide and varied. She has done live improvisational comedy in Los Angeles, written and produced original children's theater, and performed one-woman cabaret shows in New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis, Palm Beach and Fort Worth. Her career reflects Lisa's 3 greatest passions: children, education, and creativity.

Jo Dufo (Dufault) (listed on the Texas Commission on the Arts/Arts In Education Artist Roster) - Jo was born in Virginia and studied art at Holden School of Art, Radford University, and the Art Student's League in NYC; and has her B.S. in Art Education. Jo is a painter, graphic designer, and an international muralist, painting murals in schools, libraries, & museums. She is a dynamic artist and teacher and has had experience overseeing large community projects.

April Gaines/Tap - The first night I brought my new Tap shoes home, I playfully tucked them in beside my pillow so I could dream my childhood dreams. Tap dancing touches my soul and rekindles my spirit. Dancing at ARTS FIFTH AVENUE has been pleasure beyond measure.

Glenna Janda/Art,Sculpture (Bi-Lingual) - received her BA from TCU and continued her studies at the University of the Americas, the Instituto Allende, and the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes while living in Mexico. In addition to her work in sculpture, painting and ceramic, Glenna has a history with dance that often influences her visual arts.

Harris Kirby/Mandolin & Ukulele - As a wee lad, Harris listened to his older brother's band rehearse. He learned to play mandolin and guitar in his teens and began accompanying fiddle players in south Texas. Harris has played in county bands, garage bands and enjoys many types of music from folk to classical.

Dale Luna/Tap - a long time ago Dale remembers dancing in his room to Broadway musical scores as a young man. He was especially inspired by the movie "Westside Story" and later in life, after focusing on his ballet studies, became a "gangleader" of Tap. Of course, there's no Tap in "Westside Story" but you know Dale!

Eli Holly/Tap - a high school senior in the fine arts programs at Arlington Heights Highschool - teaches exciting rhythms and tecniques. We are proud to have him as a member of our Artists in Residence this year.

Scott Mann/Guitar - first sang in a band called "Necroplis" in high school but didn't start studying guitar until he was 20! An accomplished singer-songwriter, he released his 1st CD entitled "the road as i know it" in 2002 and his 2nd release "Sam's Acoustic Soul" came out in March of 2004. Scott is also involved with the Fort Worth Songwriter's Assoc. and was elected to their Board for two consecutive terms.

Shelley Hallum/Yoga - began practicing Hatha yoga in 2001 at the Body, Mind, Spirit Center in Fort Worth.
In 2003, Shelley was introduced to Anusara yoga and has been following that path ever since. Anusara yoga, developed in 1997 by John Friend, means “flowing with Grace,” or “following your heart.” Through this "celebration of the heart, Anusara yoga helps to unveil the innate goodness, worthiness, and supreme nature of each student and every being. All levels of abilities and experience are honored for their unique differences, limitation and talents. Along with her experience in Anusara, Shelley is a licensed massage therapist, and incorporates therapeutic insight into the asana practice. For more information on Anusara, visit www.anusara.com

Dena Brinkley Phillips/Zumba - Dena has been involved with fitness for more than 25 years. In fact, she taught the first low-impact aerobics classes in Fort Worth at Westside Workout, where she taught for 15 years. She is a certified Zumba instructor. But what is Zumba? Zumba utilizes the principals of fitness and interval training to maximize caloric output, fat-burning, and body toning. But, what makes Zumba unique is that it is fun! You don't have to know how to dance to do Zumba. It creates a party-like atmosphere with a fusion of Latin and international music dance themes, creating a dynamic, exciting, effective system of fitness.
